Das Ausstellungsprojekt eint in sich künstlerische sowie kuratorische Positionen im Bezug auf das Thema Dossier, welches von den unterschiedlichen Perspektiven untersucht wird. Es entfaltet in einer Komplexität zwei Ebenen des Begriffs Dossier – eine davon spiegelt ihren ursprünglich dokumentarischen Charakter in der Form von Akten, die während der Ausstellung dem Publikum gezeigt werden. Sie eröffnen einen Durchblick in der künstlerischen Praxis der Künstler durch die Zerlegung ihrer Leben in Daten und Ereignisse. Die Uniformität der Aktenpräsentation bestimmt sie jedoch als Teil der sozialen Realität und überprüft ihre gesellschaftliche Zugehörigkeit. Dadurch wird das Thema des Gesellschaftsbildes erweitert und gleichzeitig auf die Selbstreflexion bezogen. Andererseits wird das Dossier als eine abstrakte Form betrachtet, deren vielschichtige Aspekte in verschiedenen Medien (Installationen, Video, Performances) von den Künstlern erforscht werden. Das Entstehen und die Dekonstruktion von Informationen, die zur Auffassung der Persönlichkeit beitragen und die Geschichte zum Vorgang und deren Umwandlung bringen und Informationen, die ihre Spuren im Gedächtnis hinterlassen und die Möglichkeit der Machthabe und Manipulation bieten. All dies wird durch zeitgenössische Mittel in der Ausstellung hinterfragt.
This exhibition project covers both artistic and curatorial stances on the topic of 'dossier'. We intend to analyze such topic from several perspectives. The complex notion of 'dossier' includes at least two conceptual levels. The first level pertains to the domain of documentary material and will be shown to the audience in the form of files and documents. The audience will be provided with the opportunity to access the artistic practice of the artists through the breakdown of their life into dates and events. The uniformity of the exhibition denotes that the artists are pictured as components of the social reality and stresses their social identity. By means of this identification process we extend the notion of social imaginary and connect it to the notion of introspection. The second level of analysis captures the abstract character of the dossier-concept, whose various aspects will be investigated by the artists through several mediums: installations, videos, and performances. The construction and deconstruction of information regarding the representation of personality, the reconstruction of history and its transformations, the traces left in memory, and the risk of empowerment and manipulation: all this, vehiculated through contemporary mediums, will represent the conceptual background of the exhibition.
